Mount Washington Resident Plays Fun-E-Ball (Not Clickbait)

Someone from Mount Washington, Kentucky, trekked all the way to Murray to play Fun-E-Ball at Trends N Treasures.

Now, those of you who live in the commonwealth will understand how arduous a journey this would be: Three and a half hours of driving is nothing at which to scoff. So the fact that Astor Mann did it to just to win a bouncy ball…well, that takes some guts.

At least that’s how I like to frame it. The reality is that Astor is a close friend of my fiancée Jordan Harrell. The two of us were supposed to keep Jordy occupied yesterday while her bridesmaids orchestrated a wedding shower at her parents’ house. The detour to Trends N Treasures was merely a byproduct of that.

Still, it gave me an excuse to write this here article – because we all know how much I love blabbing about Fun-E-Ball. It’s one of the only “redemption” experiences I’ve ever genuinely enjoyed, considering it’s purely transactional in how it vends prizes.

I’m grateful to Astor for being a pawn in my promotions, as I weaved this tall tale about blazing through Kentucky solely to support Wilcox Arcade. I’m nothing if not theatric in the way I advertise my ever-growing business.

You, too, can win a bouncy ball from good ol’ Fun-E-Ball at Trends N Treasures off South 12th Street. Goodness know I’d recommend it: I’ve been holding onto this faithful machine since the genesis of my route in Hopkinsville. I’d buy another one in a heartbeat if I could find it for sale close enough to where I’m planted.

While you’re at Trends N Treasures, kindly also consider playing Centipede, which Missouri-based repairman Eugene Mosh recently brought back to life. Obviously, I’m more inclined to signal-boost my actual video games, due to those being my driving passion behind all this. Something like Fun-E-Ball is more so an exception than the rule.

Long story short, thank you so much to Astor Mann for giving my game a whirl. Return to the Wilcox Arcade blog weekly for more stories just like this, or follow me on TikTok for daily updates.
