Switch ‘N’ Shoot Comes to Kentucky Today

If you’re seeing this as intended, today is the day that the Switch ‘N’ Shoot arcade game will arrive in western Kentucky.

March 22nd, 2025 – that’s the date. The launch event kicks off at 1 p.m. CST, exclusively at Know-a-Guy in Murray. I’ll hand out one-inch Wilcox Arcade pins to the first 25 paying players, along with a Wilcox Arcade trucker hat to the first player who can earn 300 in-game points.

Switch ‘N’ Shoot, for those who need a recap, is a one-button space shooter that’s simple to learn yet tricky to master. Pressing said button not only fires at oncoming enemies but also changes your constant direction on the x-axis. Much like Pac-Man, your ship reappears on the other side of the screen once you’ve gone out of bounds.

The title has never seen the light of day in Kentucky before, which is part of why I’ll be so proud to present it today. I genuinely believe that anyone can have fun with this one; it’s very approachable all around.

As a reminder, I’ll have on location one of two Switch ‘N’ Shoot “cabarets” in the entire world. What this means is it’s much more space-conscious, similar to Centipede and other releases back in the day. Despite this, I plan to acquire a larger cabinet in the future. That way, I can put TWO instances of Switch ‘N’ Shoot into my home commonwealth.

I was sweating a little bit deciding when to start promoting the launch event, considering Fastenal shipping isn’t the most precise thing in the world. Even so, it looks like I lucked out, because the game is in my possession and ready to rock.
