Switch ‘N’ Shoot Kentucky Launch Date Confirmed

Updated: Mar 10

The indie arcade game Switch ‘N’ Shoot will make its Kentucky debut on March 22nd, 2025.

Developed by Matt Glanville and published by DSM Arcade, Switch ‘N’ Shoot is a one-button space shooter that has otherwise gone unrepresented in the commonwealth of Kentucky. It’ll be available exclusively at Know-a-Guy in Murray starting this month, courtesy of Wilcox Arcade.

Given these special circumstances, Switch ‘N’ Shoot will arrive in style. I’ll host a launch event that Saturday at 1 p.m., during which I’ll give out one-inch Wilcox Arcade pins to the first 25 paying players. I’ll also award a Wilcox Arcade trucker hat to the first player who earns 300 points in the game. I want to make this worth your time for so many reasons.

I think it goes without saying just how tickled I am to be the sole purveyor of this unique coin-op experience within my favorite region of the United States. This indie-driven journey of mine began when I placed Skycurser at WK Cinemas in Hopkinsville four years ago. It’s wild to think how far my route has come since then – and how much farther it still will go.

Switch ‘N’ Shoot is especially great for being so danged approachable. Anybody on the face of the Earth can enjoy a title boasting only one button, and everybody should enjoy it, too, considering how fun it is. It’s sunk its tendrils into me countless times before, despite me not usually being a fan of endless “high score chasers.” Something about Switch ‘N’ Shoot nudges me to push for better performance again and again.

Although you may not recognize it by name nor appearance, that relative anonymity is exactly what makes this experience so incredibly special. I think it’s important that we as players step out of our comfort zones sometimes to see what’s new in the world. Besides, I’ll be there to demo the game amid its first afternoon.

I absolutely plan to run tournaments on Switch ‘N’ Shoot in the future, so you’ll have ample opportunity to acclimate to its mechanics. I don’t believe in the “drop and dash” approach: When I put a machine somewhere, I’m as serious as a heart attack about supporting it.

With indie games in particular, they just plain speak to my heart. It is my sincere ambition that they will soon resonate with the people of my local community, as well. Your attendance at the Switch ‘N’ Shoot launch event will help set that in motion.

Join me – plus my fiancée Jordan Harrell – next Saturday, March 22nd, at Know-a-Guy in Murray, Kentucky. Switch ‘N’ Shoot will drop at 1 p.m. sharp.
